NSBS, the Bulgarian National Freight Forwarding Association has been established to represent the Bulgarian freight forwarding industry and to protect its interests at national and international level. The association brings together almost all proven companies that cover the entire spectrum of freight forwarding and logistics.

Since 1992 NSBS has been working for the sustainable development of the Bulgarian freight forwarding sector, for improving the legal basis of the freight forwarding in Bulgaria, for raising the reputation of the freight forwarding profession and ensuring the security and prevention of risks in the work of the member companies.

Today the association represents more than 120 freight forwarding and logistics companies, which is undoubted evidence of the constantly increasing confidence in NSBS because we strive to develop according to the needs of the members, to expand the range of services to facilitate their activities and to work in the interest of the Bulgarian freight forwarding and logistics sector.

NSBS is a member of FIATA (the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations) and CLECAT (European Association for Forwarding, Transport, Logistics and Customs Services).


Priority directions:

  • Activities to protect branch and employer interests;
  • Expansion of the range of services to facilitate members' activity and prevention of risks in the work of member companies;
  • Development of the transport, freight forwarding and logistics branch by enhancing the professional qualification and promotion of the freight forwarding profession;
  • Active international cooperation with European transport structures.

NSBS structure:

  • THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY is the supreme body of the association. The Assembly defines the main guidelines for the development of NSBS, adopts the budget of the association, elects and dismisses the members of the Board of Directors  and Control Commission , accepts their reports, performs other functions, stemming from the Statute and the legislation of the country.
  • THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS  consists of 9 members elected by the General Assembly for a term of three years. It ensures the implementation of the decisions of the General Assembly and offers guidelines for the development of the association.

  • THE BOARD OF CONTROL  is elected by the General Assembly and accomplishes the overall audit and control activity on the implementation of the decisions of the General Assembly, the Board of Directors  and those resulting from the normative acts and internal structural documents.

Since 1994 NSBS has represented Bulgaria in the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations FIATA.  Representatives of NSBS participate in FIATA’s bodies

  Since 2000 NSBS has been acting as a Secretariat of the Consultative Committee of the South East European Freight Forwarders Associations

Since 2003 NSBS is a member of CLECAT (European Association for forwarding, transport, logistics and customs services) and thereby has a voice in the transport decisions of the European Commission.

In 1996 NSBS prepared and imposed among its members “Standard Trading & Warehousing Conditions”, which impose high professional standards for the forwarding and logistic services they offer. In cooperation with renowned insurers, NSBS has developed and introduced an insurance policy, which covers the liability of the freight forwarder to its customer-shippers. 

In 1996 NSBS developed for the first time in Bulgaria Manual and Programme for professional preparation of freight forwarders. NSBS was accredited by FIATA to conduct vocational training courses and to issue an internationally recognized diploma for professional competence in the freight forwarding profession.

In 1999 NSBS was given the right to provide its members with FIATA documents:  the Multimodal Transport Bill of Lading (FIATA FBL), the FIATA Forwarder’s Certificate of Receipt (FIATA FCR), the FIATA Warehouse Receipt (FIATA FWR), etc.

In 2002 Vocational training centre – NSBS was established and accredited with licence on national and international level to hold specialized courses in freight forwarding and logistics.

In 2012 Vocational training centre – NSBS built up its own platform and introduced distance training in 13 specialized programmes.

In 2013 NSBS established a Court of Arbitration specialized for settlement of transport and freight forwarding law disputes.

In 2015 NSBS created an E-manual in freight forwarding in accordance with the standards of FIATA.

In 2015 NSBS established employment and internship platform in order to support the Trainee programme and to increase the attractiveness of the freight forwarding profession among young people.

In 2016 experts from NSBS and NAVET developed state educational standards for the profession “Freight forwarder-logistic” and Vocational Training Centre – NSBS was licensed for profession “Freight forwarder-logistic” and profession  ”Courier “.

In 2017 Vocational training centre - NSB was approved by the Employment agency as vocational training provider under the Operational programme Human Resources Development 2014-2020 scheme "Vouchers for Employed Persons".

In 2018 NSBS published a new printed edition of the Manual in freight forwarding in accordance with the standards of FIATA.

Mr. Tzvetin Todorov

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Mr. Tzvetin Todorov is the Vice Chairman since 2015 and member of the the Board of Directors of NSBS since 2012. 2009 - 2012 – Chairman of the Control Commission of NSBS. He is Managing director of Alexander Logistics Ltd., established in 1994 and NSBS member since 2006. He has graduated from the Technical University of Sofia.

Mr. Iavor Pantaleev

Vice chairman of the Board of Directors

Yavor Pantaleev is Chairman of the Board of Directors of OYROSHPED - the first private company in Bulgaria for forwarding and logistics, established in 1990. He graduated from the National School of Finance and Economics in Sofia with a degree in information processing, after which he received a bachelor's degree in forwarding, transport and logistics at the Baden-Württemberg Dual University in Loerrach (Germany).

During his higher education he worked and did an internship in a large shipping company in Switzerland. He completed a master's degree with a management profile for organizational excellence at the School of Management at NBU. Yavor is Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the Bulgarian National Freight Forwarding Association (NSBS), and in the period 2018 - 2021 he was its chairman.

He believes that the main factor for success is the ability to analyze and manage information and processes. He professes the maxim that a team is motivated by trust, encouragement, training and personal example. He believes that in order for a person to be successful, he must constantly train, acquire knowledge and skills in order to create experience. Apart from forwarding and logistics, Yavor has a strong interest in the fields of information technology and law.

A father of three daughters, outside of work he loves to travel and practice extreme sports.

Mr. Ivan Petrov

Vice chairman of the Board of Directors

Mr. Ivan Petrov is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of NSBS and responsible for the International affairs of the Association. He was Chairman of NSBS two mandates from 2000 till 2006.

Mr. Petrov is President of FIATA, Chairman of the Regional Institute Europe and Chairman of Working Group Rail of FIATA. He is Secretary General of CLECAT as well as Chair of Rail Institute within the same organization. He is Chairman of the Joint Working Group UIC/FIATA with participation of the members of the Railway Undertakings and Logistics companies. He is a member of the Consultative Committee of Presidents of Forwarding Associations on the Balkans.

Managing director of “TRANS EXPRESS” Ltd. – since 1991 at present. Degree in “Doctor of Economic science” from the University for National and World Economy. Specializations for International transport, forwarding and logistics in USA, Austria, Germany and Russia.

Mrs. Marieta Grigorov

Vice chairman of the Board of Directors

Mrs. Marieta Grigorova is a Vice Chairman of  NSBS since year 2009. For the period 2000 – 2003 she has been Member of the Control Commission of NSBS and 2003- 2006 -Member of  the Board of NSBS.
Mrs. Grigorova is General Manager of Gebrueder Weiss EOOD since 1993. She has more than 15 years excpirience in the forwarding  industry. Qualification: Magister, graduated from  the Universitty of Sofia and  MBA .

Mr. Kolyo Doynov

Vice chairman of the Board of Directors


Mr. Kolyo Doynov is a member of the Board of Directors of NSBS since 2018. In the period 2015 – 2018 he was a member of the Control Commission of NSBS. He has been a  managing director of SIKO Trans AD since 2003. He graduated in Accounting and Control at the University of National and World Economy.

Mr. Аngel Safev

Member of the Board of Directors

Mr. Аngel Safev is a vice chairman of the Board of Directors of NSBS since 2018. He is a member of the Board of Directors of NSBS from 2006 and its chairman in the period 2015 – 2018. He is responsible for the working group in “River transport and ports”. He is Managing Director of Mobille Ltd, Varna since 2000. Mr. Angel Safev graduated from the  University for Economy, Varna – International Economic Relations.

Mr. Vasil Borisov

Member of the Board of Directors

Mr. Vasil Borisov is a member of the Board of Directors of NSBS since 2015. In the period 2009 – 2012 he has been member of the Control Commission of NSBS. He is Managing Director of “Etna Cargo” LTD and “Etna Cargo Transport” LTD.
He has graduated International Economic Relations programme  in UNWE.

Mr. Ivan Kirchev

Member of the Board of Directors

Mr. Ivan Kirchev is a member of the Board of Directors of NSBS since year 2015. He is a member of the Control Commission from year 2012 till 2015.
Since year 2002 he is Manager of Bell TT Logistic Ltd., Varna. Mr. Ivan Kirchev graduated from the Shumen University “Episkop Konstantin Preslavski” and he has postgraduate “Business Management and Administration of the transport companies” in the University of National and World Economy – Institute for Postgraduate VSHMA town of Sofia, and has successfully proved his competence and knowledge and is awarded with FIATA DIPLOMA IN FREIGHT FORWARDING by vocational training and examination in NSBS.

Mrs. Irina Velikova

Member of the Board of Directors

Mrs. Irina Velikova has been a member of the Management Board of NSBS since 2022, and in the previous term she was the chairman of the Control Board. Since 2015 she is an Owner and Managing Director of the STM GROUP LTD. She gains professional and managerial experience in the financial sector, but is highly impressed with the dynamics and opportunities for new models in the logistics industry. Mrs. Velikova is a graduate of Economic Sociology and has Master’s Degree in European Integration at the University of National and World Economy.

Mr. Emil Dandolov

Chairman of the Board of Control

Mr. Emil Dandolov is a member of the Control commission since 2018. He is а vice president of M&M Militzer & Münch BG Co. Ltd., established in 1990 and a member in NSBS for a long time. He graduated at the University of mining and geology “St. Ivan Rilski”.

Jordan Peytchev

Member of the Board of Control

Mr. Yordan Peychev was elected a member of the Supervisory Board of NSBS in 2022. He graduated from the Technical University in Sofia and the University of Wales (MBA). He has 15 years of experience in the manufacturing and automotive industries as head of IT, Purchasing and Finance. Managing partner in Scorpion Shipping Ltd since 2018. Married, father of two children

Olga Wassilewska

Member of the Board of Control

Member of the NSBS Control Board since 2021. Majority owner and manager in MW LOGISTICA, Olga Vasilevska is a third generation forwarder. With a main focus in the development of its own grouping lines, the company manages the supply chains of over 200 Bulgarian and international companies, taking care of their supplies, logistics and procurement processes.

Mrs. Vasilevska is among the first nominated young Bulgarians with a contribution to our social development on Darik Radio "40 to 40", she was also honored in the Forbes "30 under 30" ranking and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Momchil Antov

director

Director of the Bulgarian National Freight Forwarding Association (NSBS). He has many years of practical experience as a customs representative. In 2009 he defended his dissertation in the field of customs control and obtained the scientific degree "Doctor of Economics" (PhD). Since 2010 he has been a lecturer in customs control at the Department of Control and Analysis of Economic Activity at the Academy of Economics D. A. Tsenov ”- Svishtov. He is the author of over 50 scientific publications in the country and abroad in the field of customs and financial control. Creator of the specialized customs information portal Info.Mitnica.com.
