Forum in Thessaloniki focused on sustainable development of port infrastructure

The International Forum 'Circular Ports for Global Trade' took place in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 14 March 2026. The event was organised by the Bulgarian-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BHCCI) and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).

The event focused on sustainable port infrastructure development, the green transformation, and smart connectivity as key factors for the future of international trade and logistics.

Among the official guests were Christos Dimas (Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Greece); Konstantinos Gyulekas (Deputy Minister of the Interior, Macedonia-Thrace Region); Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (Prime Minister of Bulgaria, 2001–2005); Traycho Traykov (Minister of Energy); Julian Popov (Minister of the Environment and Water); Christodoulos Topsidis (Governor of Eastern Macedonia); and Katerina Tsapikidou (representative of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs). The Deputy Mayor of Thessaloniki was also in attendance.

Participants included representatives of the Investment Council and the Council of Branch Organisations of the BCCI, as well as members of the Chamber's Board. The Bulgarian National Freight Forwarding Association (NSBS) was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr Momchil Antov, the Director of the Association.

Many bilateral talks were held between company and institutional representatives.
